Johnny Herbert tests at
Silverstone, June 1999
The Stewart-Ford team ran one car in a pre-Montreal test at Silverstone from Tuesday
1st to Thursday 3rd June 1999. Also present were McLaren, Jordan, Benetton, BAR and
Arrows. Rubens Barrichello drove the SF3 on Tuesday and Johnny took over on the wet
Wednesday afternoon, posting the fastest time for the day in the poor conditions. On
Thursday, Johnny was fourth quickest, behind Coulthard, Hill and Wurz.
By kind permission of the Stewart-Ford team, a few fans were allowed access to the test
(a big thank you to Bob Herbert for arranging it). These photos of Johnny were taken on
the final day of the test. You can also find a report on the test and some more photos on DC's Website.
